517,531. Piston - rings. HOWELL, E. C. L. July 25, 1938, No. 21974. [Class 122 (i)] A piston ring comprises two or more flat helical strips 6 with resilient positioning means, such as the crimped ring 7 or a wire coil, between adjacent strips, the whole being located in a groove in the piston. The base of the groove may be apertured to lead oil &c. scraped from the cylinder back into the piston interior.
