Abstract

516,816. Colour photography. KODAK, Ltd. April 9, 1938, No. 10897. Convention date, April 10, 1937. [Class 98 (ii)] In a method of producing a corrected colourcomponent record comprising directly exposing to the object, through a filter or filters transmitting the component colour to be recorded and also the correcting component colour, a two-layer material recording the two component colours, the latent image of the component colour to be recorded being processed to a negative image and the latent image of the other component colour being processed to a positive image of lower gamma than the negative image, the masking element comprises a coloured negative image whose transmission for a narrow spectral region decreases linearly with increase component colour being processed to a positive image whose transmission for light of a second narrow spectral region is proportional to the exposure. The material comprises a support layer 10 coated with a red-sensitive emulsion layer 11 of toe emulsion type, and a green sensitive emulsion 12 of the type have a straight H and D curve. The material is exposed through a yellow filter and processed to negative and positive images respectively. The images are then processed to colour as described in Specifications 427,472, 427,516, 427,518 and 427,520, the image 13 in the layer 11 to yellow and the image 14 in the layer 12 to magenta. Thus material is copied by green and blue light on to a "toe" emulsion. The "yellow" and "magenta" printers are obtained on material having different sensitivities, but are processed to the same colours yellow and magenta. The records are copied with blue and green light of narrow spectral hands. Specifications 488,835, [Group XL], 501,661 and 516,514 also are referred to.
