Abstract
516,794. Coating metals ; alloys. NATIONAL SMELTING CO., Ltd. July 8, 1938, No. 20259. Convention date, July 12, 1937. [Classes 82 (i) and 82 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] A composite metal consists of a zinc alloy containing 6-15 per cent. of aluminium coated with aluminium, for example to a thickness of 5-15 per cent. of the base material. The coating may be applied by electrolysis or spraying, and the product may be rolled into sheets. A pre-rolled sheet may be covered on one or both sides with aluminium sheet attached by bending over its edges or by spot-welding, and may be heated to 320‹C. and further rolled. Zinc alloys containing 6-15 per cent. of aluminium and 0.001-1 per cent. of copper, for example, 10 and 0.3 per cent. respectively, are referred to.
