Abstract
516,299. Oscillating machines. SOC. ANON. FIMI. July 1, 1938, No. 19578. Convention date, July 21, 1937. [Class 35] [Also in Groups XXIV and XXXVIII] In a device particularly adapted as a remote control of wireless receivers or transmitters, a ratchet wheel 11 is adapted to be given a stepby-step movement in either direction by an armature 3 pivoted at 4 and actuated by electrical impulses. The armature has arms 7, 8 the ends 9, 10 of which act upon the ratchet teeth. To lock the wheel after each displacement, each arm carries a pin 19 which passes through an opening 17 in a lever 13 pivoted at 15 to the framework of the apparatus. Electromagnets 1, 2 are disposed on opposite sides of the arm which, when no current flows is maintained in a neutral position by springs 5, 6. In this position the ends 9, 10 are spaced from their respective teeth, and the wheel is locked by the levers 13. If an impulse is passed through the magnet 1, the armature moves to the left and the arm 7 rises. The arm 8 in moving downwardly causes the pin 19 thereon to move its lever 13 away from the teeth so as to free the wheel. After a certain displacement of the arm 7, the lever 13 thereon moves outwards being assisted in this movement by the teeth of the wheel. The levers 13 are returned by springs not shown. The electromagnets may be replaced by a polarized relay or impulse motor.
