Abstract
515,671. Hormone solutions. SCHERING AKT.-GES. March 2, 1938, Nos. 6582 and 6583. Void. Convention dates March 2, 1937, and Oct. 25, 1937. [Class 81(i)] Concentrated aqueous solutions of germgland hoxmones and their derivatives or of suprarenal cortex hormone, suitable for injection, are obtained with the use, as solution promoters, of hydrotropic substances such as bile acids or their salts, or keto-sulphonic acids of sterols or other steroids or their salts. Examples of the hormones are dihydrofollide hormone (oestradiol), androsterone, androstandiol, testosterone, corpus luteum hormone, follicle hormone hydrate (oestriol), oestrone, oestradiol palmitate, oestradiol benzoate, and progesterone. Hydrotropic substances referred to are the following acids and their alkali salts : cholesterone - 3 - sulphonic acid - 6, sulphonic acids of other sterol ketones, of unsaturated oxo-bile acids or of oxo-cholenic acids and their lower homologues, sodium taurocholate, desoxycholic acid, and glycocholic acid. According to numerous examples the hormone is in each case boiled with an aqueous solution of the hydrotropic substance, in some cases with addition of acetone which is evaporated off.
