Abstract
515,518. Gas lighters. PEARCE, H. May 31, 1938, No. 16197. [Class 75 (iii)] In a gas-lighter in which a frictionwheel 18 mounted on a member 14, is actuated by a parallel member 15 adapted to be displaced by a trigger 13a and released for return by a spring 13, the members 14; 15 are held together by split pins 17 so that the spring 13, attached to hooks 16, can be readily replaced if broken or damaged. Tne flint 2 is pressed against the wheel 18 by a spring 4, adapted to be retracted by a pin or disc 8 on a rod 6 passing through the screw-plug 5 for inserting a new flint through a slot 3 in the tube 1. The handle 9 is formed with a housing for spare flints, closed by a cap 10 having a split tubular shank 11 and fitted with a suspension ring 12.
