Abstract

512,380. Conditioning grain. WESSANEN'S KONINKLIJKE FABRIEKEN N.V., and MIAG MUHLENBAU UND INDUSTRIE AKT.-GES. Nov. 7, 1938, No. 32293. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1937. [Class 58] Grain having been wetted with water and heated passes into a container 1 wherein it is led through a device 2, in which it is again wetted with water, to a conditioner 4 where it is heated for about 15 to 20 minutes to cause the husks to absorb water without the water affecting the endosperm. The heating is preferably arranged so that there is a quick rise in the temperature of the grain of from 25 to 50 degrees centrigade. The grain then passes through a brushing machine 6 to the break rolls 7.
