[Class 37] [Also in Group XXXVIII] The dynamic out-of-balance of a rotatable body 1 is measured by rotating it in a spring- supported cage 4 and determining the variations in capacity of a condenser one plate 6 of - which is carried or constituted by the cage, the other plate 7 being relatively stationary: The stationary plate may be carried by a fixed base or it may have considerable inertia and be spring mounted on the cage so as to remain stationary relatively to the plate fixed on the cage. As shown, plate 7 comprises two insulated portions adapted to be connected to a push-pull thermionic oscillator which provides indications of the variations of capacity.
