Abstract

[Class 146 (ii)] Enlarged models of microscopic organisms, cells, or the like are formed of two or more layers of transparent or translucent material, the outer layer conforming in shape to that of the organism and the inner layer or layers carrying moulded particles representing characteristic features of the organism. The outer layer and, if desired, the inner layer or layers may be treated to produce a frosted effect as by the application of granular or powdered material, and the parts may be coloured. The model may be mounted over an aperture in a base-plate to enable it to be viewed by transmitted light.
