[Class 51 (ii)] In a furnace construction comprising an inner heating- chamber 1, an outer casing 9 and intervening struts 5 as described in Specification 486,559, resilient members are provided in connection with the struts, and may consist of helical springs 7 acting against adjustable abutments 11, as shown, or may be formed by elastic diaphragms on the shell, or may be in the struts themselves.
