503,611. Optical-projection apparatus. NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE, Ltd., HEPWORTH, C. M., and KIMBERLEY, P. Oct. 7, 1937, No. 27311. [Class 3 (i)] In optical-projection apparatus in which a plurality of transparencies hinged together in chain formation are moved in succession through the projection gate, the transparencies 14 are removably carried in open frames 11, hinged together at opposed, parallel, marginal edges by detachable hinge pins 15, each of which is formed with portions 16 of reduced diameter co-operating with the hinge eyes 17 of adjacent frames to form an interlocking engagement when the frames are drawn apart. The chain passes round a square prism rotated intermittently either by Geneva stop motion driven through worm gearing by an electric motor, or by a switch-actuated solenoid oscillating an arm carrying a pawl engaging a ratchet-wheel on the prism shaft. The bight of the endless chain of transparencies hangs down freely.
