[Class 95] [Also in Groups XV and VIII] A record sheet or strip for use in a typewriter, autographic register, or like machine consists of a sheet of paper or like material, preferably of a dark colour or provided with a dark-coloured coating, having a superposed layer of contrasting colour formed on a thermoplastic material which, on heating and applying pressure by typing or writing is displaced to expose the underlying surface. The thermo. plastic material consists of a synthetic resin such as chlorinated diphenyl or polyvinyl acetate, a solvent such as ethyl acetate or ethylene dichloride, and a pigment or other colouring-material, e.g. titanium oxide, zinc oxide, talc, or aluminium or bronze powder.
