502,861. Photographic processes. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES. Sept. 22, 1937, No. 25712. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1936. [Class 98 (ii)] [Also in Group IV] Fast prints are obtained upon artificial structures, e.g. textile fibres and fabrics, prepared from solutions in which are dissolved organic highly polymeric hydrophobic material as main ingredient and, as secondary ingredient, non-volatile hydrophilic material of high molecular weight which is not removable by rinsing with water; by treating the structures with a diazo and a coupling component of which at least one has insufficient affinity for hydrophobic material such as acetate artificial silk. In an example, a tightly woven, satin fabric of acetate artificial silk containing the interpolymer from vinyl methyl ether (1 mol.) and maleic anhydride (1 mol.) is grounded with a solution of the diazo salt from fast blue BB base, containing, as sensitizer, Rhodamine B extra, dried, exposed at low temperature under a photographic negative and developed with a Naphthol AS component.
