499,862. Bomb - dropping ; sights. HEBER, C., and MECHANISCHE WERKSTATTEN NEUBRANDENBURG GES. May 27, 1937, No. 14751. Addition to 395,568. Drawings to Specification. [Classes 9 (ii) and 92 (ii)] The electrically operated bomb-releasing mechanism claimed in the parent Specification is controlled by a sighting apparatus carrying a contact device, closure of which, when the target comes into view at the desired instant of release, initiates the operation of the release mechanism. The sighting apparatus, which is of known construction, may be connected with the release mechanism by means of a cable or the release mechanism may be controlled from the sighting apparatus by wireless transmission. In the latter event and in the case of a squadron of aircraft, a transmitter may be provided on the sighting apparatus of one aircraft and arranged to co-operate with receivers provided on the release mechanism of individual or of all the remaining aircraft of the squadron.
