Abstract
499,319. Moulding synthetic resins &c. STONE & CO., Ltd., J., and LEWIS, E. C. July 21, 1937, No. 20223. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] A core for use in casting or moulding plastic materials, such as synthetic resin, has a fixed portion c and a portion d which is shifted or withdrawn to allow the article to contract freely. The portion d has inturned ends d<2> to prevent leakage of the material into the space g, is guided by cylindrical surfaces c<3> of the portion c, is normally pressed by a spring f into the position shown, being arrested by engaging the cam h<1>or frame e<1>, and is withdrawn by rotating the cam-shaft h. The removable mould part b may have a vent, not shown, for the escape of air as well as the runner k.
