Abstract

498,795. Braid. DELAMERE CO., Inc. April 12, 1938, No. 11245. Convention date, Nov. 27, 1937. Drawings to Specification. [Class 74 (i)] Tubular braid for use in the manufacture of hair-dressing accessories is made by interbraiding strands of relatively stiff inelastic material, e.g. artificial horsehair, and incorporating therewith, at regular intervals, unbraided warp threads of tensioned elastic material. The threads, or the braid as a whole, may be lacquered or otherwise treated with waterproofing or water-repellent material. The braid resists compression when stretched and tends to return to its original shape when released.
