Abstract
498,698. Scoring-apparatus for games. BISSET, K. Aug. 27, 1937, No. 23521. [Class 132 (ii)] [Also in Group XIX] A multiple-dial scoring device comprises a set of fingering discs 2 separately pivoted on a base-plate 1, a set of numeral-bearing dials 3 again separately pivoted on the base-plate and each operated by a corresponding disc 2, means 2x on each disc for effecting a transfer to the dial of the next denomination, a front plate 4 having a large window 4a concentrically over each disc 2 and a relatively small window 4x over a portion of each dial 3 sufficient to expose one numeral thereon at a time, a set of numerals 4b being associated with the fingering portions of the discs and a finger stop 4<1> extending over each large window. The transfer tooth 2a; is beak-shaped so as to be effective in one direction only, but when the device is adapted to be used both additively and subtractively this tooth is made symmetrical. To position the dials, spring-controlled rollers 5 press between the pins thereon (not shown) which engage the toothed discs. Zeroizing means for the dials may be provided. Small pointers 6 may be used to indicate the last score.
