Abstract
498,117. Interchangeable jewel mountings. GREEN, D. L. April 7, 1938, No. 10629. [Class 43] Jewels are mounted interchangeably on rings, brooches, &c. by providing on the ring &c. a spring-controlled hinged member M, Fig. 1, which can be raised to receive a hollow box-like structure, Fig. 2, carrying the jewel and then be lowered again into position. The jewel may be carried by upstanding clips engaging with grooves in the jewel. Alternatively, the jewel may be held by spring-controlled flaps G<1>, Fig. 4, in a small frame T which bears on its back the hollow box-like structure O<1>. In a third form, the frame T has grooves to engage with the clips P, Fig. 2.
