Abstract

496,453. Neckties. WEAVER, H. F. April 2, 1938, No. 10128. [Class 141] A necktie comprises an outer fabric 1, a bias-cut lining 2, and a narrow reinforcing strip 3 which are secured together by resilient stitching, e.g. zigzag stitches 4, Fig. 2, or chain stitches 6, Fig. 4, the loops or threads of the stitches extending transversely of the centre line of the strip and lining in a direction from edge to edge thereof. The strip 3 may be cut on the bias or on the straight, and may be arranged either between the outer fabric and the lining or on the opposite side of the lining. In a modification, the lining and reinforcing strip are first secured together by a row of zigzag stitches, and the composite lining then secured to the outer fabric by a second row of zigzag stitches.
