Abstract

496,381. Dart flights. SHILSTON, L. E., and SHILSTON, H. E. Aug. 6, 1938, No. 23265. [Class 132 (iii)] A dart flight consists of two pieces of thin light rigid material such as aluminium each of approximately heartshape, the two pieces being slit in a complementary manner to fit into one another cross-wise. The one piece shown in Fig. 1, has two wings A, A<1> with a slit C extending axially downwards from the apex of the V-space between them. The other piece shown in Fig. 2, has two wings B, B<1> with a slit C<1> extending axially upwards from the apex of the piece. Corrugations such as D near the edge, and such as E diagonally across the wings make the pieces more rigid. The pieces are fitted together and inserted into the crossed grooves in the tail of the dart. Advertisement matter may be embossed on the flight.
