Abstract

494,244. Transverse or building mechanism for ring frames, winding-frames, &c. SCRAGG, E. R., SCRAGG, T. W., and DAVENPORT, A. April 23, 1937, No. 11586. [Class 120 (ii)] In ring spinning and doubling and winding frames for silk and the like, the traverse is effected by differential cam mechanism as described in Specification 414,128, a cam 5 splined on a vertical shaft and rotated by a pinion 15 being reciprocated by cam 9 having two high points 11, 12 at different levels and two low points 13, 14 also at different levels and rotated by the pinion 15, the number of driving-teeth of the cams differing preferably by one. The Provisional Specification describes also an arrangement wherein the lower cam is mounted on a horizontal axis.
