Abstract

Bleachable straw pulp &c. is made by boiling with lyes containing calcium hydroxide, draining, and passing the pulp directly to a Hollander, rod mill, or edge mill, &c., wherein it is unravelled and rinsed till the wash water contains little or no sediment on standing.
