Abstract

493,576. Drying plaster board. HUGHES, C. L. (National Gypsum Co.) Aug. 3, 1937, No. 21408. [Class 34 (i)] [Also in Group V] Plaster board which is passing face downwards along a runway from the fabricating means to drying means is protected from dust by passing a current of gas over the face of the board to cause evaporation of moisture and allowing the gas to escape round the edges of the board. The board 28 is advanced along the runway comprising rollers 6 towards a drying kiln. The underside of the runway is enclosed by side plates 26 and inwardly projecting top plates 27 which terminate close to the edges of the board 28. Steam pipes 31 are provided to control the rates of evaporation and crystallization of the plaster and one or more fans 33 are provided to circulate the air in the enclosure, the air entering through a filter 36. Inspection doors 29 are provided.
