Abstract

491,348. Umbilical clamps. REAVLEY, E. July 17, 1937, No. 19820. [Class 81 (ii)] A clamp for the umbilical cord of an infant comprises an indiarubber disc a of double convex or plano-convex form, having a central aperture b. In use the cord is gripped by forceps on which the disc has been threaded and the disc then pressed off the forceps to surround the cord. The disc is preferably ¥ in. in external and <1>/12 in. in internal diameter, and <3>/16 in. in maximum thickness. Specification 1738/94, [Class 81], is referred to.
