[Class 28 (ii)] A kitchen utensil for comminuting articles of food or the like comprises a flat or arched sheet metal body 1 of which one or more edges are sharpened and/or one edge is provided with teeth 17, and of which the surface is stamped or otherwise provided with grating-apertures, and a handle 18 attached to the body and provided with an aperture 19 adapted to remove crown stoppers from bottles. The edge 16 is sharpened for mincing purposes. The apertures 2 may be diagonally disposed squares, one edge 45 being sharpened, or they may have the form of a rhombus, triangle, polygon, star or cross. In the case of crosses, the peripheral edges may be arcs of circles, ellipses or ovals or parts of triangles. The apertures may have sharpened pointed elements projecting inwardly and offset to one side of the sheet, or the elements of some apertures may be offset to one side and of other apertures to the other side of the sheet. The inner ends of the pointed elements may be joined by a central part of circular or square shape, which part acts as a finger guard. The utensil may be provided with two handles, and may have strengthening ribs. The apertures may be arranged in regular rows or otherwise. The handle may have a rolledover form, or may be enclosed, in known manner, between wooden supports. Alternatively, it may be composed of cylindrical or tubular wooden members secured in position by screws or the like. The utensil may be used for cutting or mincing, mashing, scaling fish or for lifting fish or the like out of a vessel.
