487,821. Knitting-machines. SAUPE, G., and WUNSCHMANN, P., (trading as SAUPE, E., [Firm of]). Nov. 9, 1937, No. 3075]. Convention date, Nov. 9, 1936. [Class 74 (ii)] The needles, sinkers, thread guides, &c. of a knitting-machine are held in a device comprising a leaden head 2 into which the needles or like are cast and which is provided with extensions 7 which extend into a base 5 member of a light material that can be cast or moulded. The light material may be an artificial resin or a light metal alloy. The leaden head 2 with the needles &c. secured thereto by casting may be placed in a press mould, whereupon the mixture of artificial resin is put into the mould in the usual manner and the mould heated. Alternatively the base member 5 may be formed first and then put in a mould in which the needles &c. are placed, whereupon the free spaces in the mould are filled with lead.
