486,647. Hosiery. PIPER, G. H. Nov. 1, 1937, No. 29773. [Class 141] Hosiery is strengthened in selected areas, such as the heel and toe, by applying rubber latex thereto, the latex being of such viscosity and coagulating rate that the rubber does not penetrate to the inside of the hose. The latex may be applied by a brush and the area may be stretched and air &c. blown through to free the meshes or loops from latex ; the coagulating rate may be controlled by exposure to heat, vapour, &c.
