485,144. Making ornamental metalwork. LEVY, F. Sept. 30, 1937, No. 26517. Convention date, Feb. 27. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XV] Metal articles such as goblets, trays, cases, caskets, boxes and lids are patterned and provided with a colour-varnish decoration by forming a pattern in a plane blank by photomechanical means and deep-etching, forming the blank to its final shape by stamping, coating the entire surface with a colourvarnish, and then cutting out the varnish from the recessed, engraved parts, which operation may be done with the use of a stencil. Patterns for a number of articles may be formed on the initial blank.
