Abstract

483,568. Trays. GILL, R. S. Oct. 20, 1936, No. 28529. [Class 128] A device positioned on the underside of a tray for facilitating carrying thereof comprises a frame or plate 2 having mounted thereon a hand-receiving holder 10, the frame being secured to the edge of the tray by rods 3. The rods may be rigid, or, as shown, spring rods adjustable in holes 5 in the frame and having rubber sleeves 7 which prevent chafing of the tray corners. The rods 3 terminate in hooks 6 also having rubber sleeves. The holder 10 may be of flexible material; it may be fixed to the frame by studs, or its effective length may be varied by transferring one retaining pin 14 from one loop 11 to another. According to the Provisional Specification a holder may be in the form of a glove or of a strip of puckered canvas providing separate loops for fingers and thumb.
