Abstract
483,014. Photographic contact-printing apparatus. KLANGFILM GES. Oct. 8, 1936, No. 27345. Convention date, Oct. 16, 1935. [Class 98 (ii)] A constant feed of film in spite of film shrinkage is obtained by forming a loop on both sides of the film in contact with a smooth driving roller so that the variation in length of one side of the loop due to shrinkage, affects the curvature of the film at the driving point, and varies the amount of film fed forward. A negative film 14 to be copied is led from a drum 1 over a toothed roller 5, between a driven roller 19 and a pressure roller 10, through braking rollers 11, 12 and again over the toothed roller 5 to the take-up drum 2. The positive film 13 is led from the drum 2 over rollers 5, 17, 16, 19, 15 and 18 to the drum 4. The exposure takes place at the place 21. A loop A, B is formed in the film 14 owing to the presence of a braking point 26. When shrinkage occurs in the film, the feed at the point 25 is in excess of that fed at the sprockets 4, and the loops A, B tend to decrease and increase respectively. This increases the curvature of the film at the point 25 whereby less film is fed forward The necessary positions of the rollers 10, 11, 12 are defined.
