Abstract
478,650. Fusible cut-outs. C.A.V.- BOSCH, Ltd., and GLASER, W. H. July 21, 1936, No. 20158. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVII] Means for indicating the blowing of a fuse a in a motor-vehicle electric system having a dynamo d, storage battery b, and indicator (lamp e) in the ignition circuit, comprises an electromagnetically-operated switch, the winding h of which is connected across the fuse a, and the contacts g of which control alternative circuits through the indicator. Closure of hand-switch f which also controls the ignition circuit, lights lamp e until the cut-out c operates. If, while c is closed, the fuse blows, winding h is energized to attract contact g, which changes the lamp connection from dynamo + to battery-, so lighting lamp e. The fuse may, alternatively, be connected between cut-out c and dynamo +, Fig. 2 (not shown). A resistance k prevents excess current at battery-voltage from damaging winding h, current from the dynamo being diverted through rectifier l.
