Abstract

477,803. Artists' palettes. WEEBER, F. March 2, 1937, No. 6188. Convention date, March 3, 1936. [Class 11] In order to facilitate the selection of colours, the paint cups are arranged in concentric circular rows, which are divided into four sectors by radial ribs f, Fig. 2, and the colours are so arranged that the groups containing the complementary colours yellow-blue and red-green are respectively in a pair of opposite sectors. The palette consists of a plate a of sheet metal, artificial resin, &c. in which the paint cups e are formed by depression. ,The cups of the inner circle hold the prime 'colours, and those of the outer circle hold different tones-belonging to the same group. Each cup has at its centre an elevation g, Fig. 4, on which the paint is placed. Around the cups is arranged a circular group of mixing- surfaces m. Two thumb-holes o are provided. A water-container s, having an inturned rim, and a sieve at about half its height, is mounted in a central bore. The palette can be covered by a lid secured by a strap.
