[Class 40 (ii)] A magazine gramophone of the type in which a number of records piled on a turntable are successively laterally discharged into a receiving means after being played, has the receiving means formed as a tray 25 which is hinged at 29 to the side wall 12 of a cabinet 10, and has clips or latches to confine the played records, so that the tray may be inverted to re-position the played records on the turntable, with the unplayed sides of the records uppermost. The records 22 piled on the turntable 20, are discharged as by an arm 24 into the receiver 25, catches or springs 31, provided with offsets 33 being provided in the receiver to retain the records in a pile on the base 26, Fig. 4, of the receiver. On the receiver being swung upwards about its hinge, the records therein align with the turntable spindle and the final lowering movement of the receiver in its inverted position threads the records on the turntable, the offset portions of the springs 31 being cammed apart by the turntable to release the records which thereafter rest on the turntable in inverted position. After use, the receiver is left in position over the turntable, in which position the hinged end of the receiver is continuous with the wall 12 of the cabinet and a hinged lid 16 may then be closed so that its edges engage over rabbeted edges on the cabinet sides, to retain the receiver in position. The cabinet may be provided with carrying handles. The cabinet may enclose also a wireless receiver 35 with connection for the gramophone pick up, a hinged end 15 being fitted to the cabinet so that the loud speaker aperture 36 may be exposed.
