477,076. Shearing. UNITED ENGINEERING & FOUNDRY CO. March 6, 1937, No. 6710. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1936. [Class 83 (iv)] In a shearing-machine with blades 4a, 4b on carriers 4c, 4d rotated from an electromotor and controlled by a flag switch 14, the crop end of a sheet is allowed by a guide 17a and the lower carrier 4d to sag until the end enters a guide 11. Cutting is then effected and the waste end falls down the shoot 11 to a truck 12. The cut end of the sheet is deflected upwards by a projection 4f of the carrier 4d and the shoot 11 is swung about a shaft 86 by a hand wheel 38 to the dotted position to guide the sheet over a roller 34 to the delivery table 3. The guide 17a is adjustable about a shaft 17 by a pressure cylinder 23 when released by a latch 27 controlled by a solenoid 31. U.S.A. Specifications 1,894,815 and 1,959,852 are referred to.
