475,181. Glass - anneaung leers. COMPAGNIES REUNIES DES GLACES ET VERRES SPECIAUX DU NORD DE LA FRANCE. Feb. 10, 1936, No. 3988. Void. Convention date, Feb. 26, 1935. [Class 39 (iii)] In a leer for annealing glass in sheet or plate form, independently controlled electric resistors 18, 9 above and below the ware conveyer are screened from the ware by heataccumulating plates 21, 16. The upper resistors are mounted in nonconducting holders 19 and are supported on T-irons 20. Heating or cooling conduits 13, 14 may be provided beneath the leer, and access openings 17, 22 allow removal and replacement of the resistors, which may extend either across the leer as shown, or from both sides to the middle. In another construction the resistors are arranged vertically along the side walls and are enclosed in refractory sheaths or tubes. Resistors may also be mounted axially in the conveyer rolls 7, or in helical grooves on the rolls.
