Abstract

474,990. Automatic exchange systems. FANSTWOWE ZAKLADY TELE-I RADJOTECHNICZNE. May 27, 1936, No. 14980. Convention date, May 31, 1935. [Class 40 (iv)] In a telephone or other exchange system using line finders, subscribers' lines are connected to a common start relav over rectifiers, and the relative potentials applied to the start circuit and to the feed circuit are such that when a finder switches through, current through the start relay ceases. When subscriber A1 calls, a circuit is completed from V3 (16 volts) rectifier PR, the loop, rectifier PR1, start relay U to V2 (8 volts). The finder a, b is marked, driven and stopped in a manner not shown and when switching relay PS operates, the feed circuit over relay Z is supplied from V4 (24 volts) and Vl (zero) so that the rectifiers no longer pass current. The various potentials may be obtained by tappings on the exchange battery. Current limiting resistances r1 are connected in subscribers' lines to prevent excessive potential drop across the windings of relay Z since it is necessary with the above voltage values that the potential drop from V4 to X1, for example, should not exceed 8 volts.
