Abstract

A poison for rodents consists of a solid starch-containing food or bait mixed with a halogen hydrin of a polyhydric alcohol such as glycerin monochlorhydrin or the compounds obtained by replacing one hydroxyl group of glycerin, erythrite, sorbite or sugar by halogen. Pastry or wheat grains may form the bait ingredient. German Specification 612,206, which relates to the use of the same compounds mixed with a bait such as sugar for use as insecticides, is referred to.
