474,446. Drawing wire. BARRON, C. A., and BARRON, H. D. Feb. 26, 1936, No. 5722. Addition to 441,902. [Class 83 (iv)] A wire-drawing machine comprises a stationary drum about which the dies are traversed as in the parent Specification, the drum a having a curved nose a<1> terminating in a vertical depending portion a<2>, this portion or a wire-receiving member b being engaged by two members e, f, alternately moved horizontally as by cams g, h, so that one is in engagement, while the other is held retracted by its spring f<1>. The worm gearing j, k which drives the cams g, h is driven in timed relation to the drum a, equal quantities of wire W being allowed to drop in successive coils on to a receiving member b. When the members e, f engage the nose a<2> they form the means for preventing rotation of the drum a, and are formed as friction pads. The members e, f may be operable by hand. Members e<2>, f<2> ensure that the coils of wire slide clear of the members e, f as they are withdrawn.
