[Class 29] An evaporatively-cooled metal butter-cooler comprises a dish 6 containing water, a stand 4f for the butter dish 7, and a cover 1 having a removable fabric jacket 2 moistened by capillary attraction by the lower end of the jacket contacting with absorbent packing 5, e.g. jute fibre, felt or fabric. In a modification, the packing is replaced by a removable fabric sleeve 2e, Fig. 5, applied to the stand.
