Abstract

471,746. Carding pencils &c. ANGLO PENCIL CO., Ltd., and SMITH, M. March 9, 1936, No. 6993. [Class 94 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] Pencils 6 or the like are held on cards 1 by means of pairs of opposed tongues 2, cut from the material of the card and hinged at scored lines 3. The opposed edges 5 may be wavy as shown in Fig. 1. The tongues may be arranged as shown in Fig. 7, or may be spaced from each other. The pencils may be applied to the card in the same machine as that in which the tongue-cutting is effected. The card is located over a member having upstanding elements which force the tongues apart sufficiently for the pencils to be inserted. The elements are then moved out of engagement to let the tongues bear resiliently on the pencils.
