Abstract

471,519. Automatic adjustments of internal shoe brakes. BENDIX, Ltd., and ROBERTS, G. P. Feb. 6, 1936, No. 3570. [Class 103 (i)] An automatic adjusting device for internalexpanding brakes operated by coming into contact with a stop is rendered inoperative by freeing the stop or withdrawing it from the path of the device. The construction is identical with that described in Specification 469,177, except that the stop 34 is adapted to be freed by the bimetallic strip 48 and pin 47 when the temperature rises or the stop may be withdrawn from the path of the tail piece 33 by means of a Bowden wire from the dash-board.
