[Class 52 (v)] A garment hanger comprises arms 3, Fig. 1, supported on a standard 1 and provided with a pair of opposed hooks 4 at each end, a member 13 also provided with opposed hooks 4 at each end, being connected to the standard 1 so that it can, lie in the same plane as the arms 3 or can be turned into a plane at right-angles thereto. The member 13 is provided with a recess at its centre into which fits a square boss on a member screwed into the top of the standard 1, the member 13 being lifted against a biassing spring before being turned from one position to another. An umbrella rack 27 and a pan 26 may be provided on the standard 1 which may have a base 2 or may be plugged into a recess in the floor. This recess may be closed by a filler plate when the standard is removed. The hooks 4 comprise a stem 6, Fig. 5, having grooves 7 to receive the suspending loops of coats and provided with downwardly directed hook members 8 which have screw members 10, 11 secured in their lower ends. The members 10, 11 are screwed out of the members 8 to grip hat brims which are introduced into the space 9. The member 13, Fig. 1, may be dispensed with, a vertical member carrying a pair of hooks at its upper end being plugged into the top of the standard when required. Additional members 21, 23, carrying hooks 25 may be detachably mounted on the standard 1 to increase the capacity of the hanger.
