Abstract

An electric contact consists of a strong cupriferous core coated with a thin layer of silver, the whole being fired, preferably in vacuo at about 750 DEG C., until the silver and copper diffuse into each other. The final result is a substantially pure core of copper and a substantially pure outer layer of silver with varying percentages of silver and copper in between.
