[Class 42 (i)] [See also Group IX] Singeing.-A pile fabric is woven with closed pile loops which are topped by singeing, shearing, &c. As shown, the fabric 1 passes over a steam chest 2 and a heated roller 3 and is singed by a burner 4. Loose fibres &c. are removed by a brush 5 and suction device 6.
