Abstract
454,952. Feeding pallets &c. from stacks. WINGET, Ltd., and LANGFORD, H., Rochester, Kent. April 10, 1935, No. 11135. [Class 117] Apparatus for feeding articles such as pallets 10 from a stack comprises one or more pusher members 11 pivotally mounted on an endless chain &c. 1 and coacting with guides 17 whereby they are moved into operative position while travelling underneath the stack of articles. The pushers are mounted on levers 12 which are biassed so as to hang freely at other parts of the traverse of the chain, and guards 18, 19 may be provided to prevent the ends of the levers projecting beyond the chain or, alternatively, stops may be provided on the levers and chain to limit their swinging movement. The guides 17 or a section 20 thereof are preferably resiliently mounted to prevent damage when an obstruction occurs or, alternatively, the pushers may be provided with a breaking piece. The container 6 for the pallets has at its forward side a projection 6<c> for supporting the forward ends of the pile of pallets and allow only one pallet at a time to occupy the feeding position.
