Abstract
454,669. Knitting-pins. MORFEY, C., 27, Noble Street, Gresham Street, London.- (Canfield Rubber Co. ; Railroad Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut, U.S.A.) May 21, 1935, No. 14824. [Class 74 (ii)] A point protector for hand knitting- needles consists of a block of rubber or like composition having in one end pairs of holes of varying diameter in which the needle points may be inserted and frictionally held, the holes of each pair being of the same diameter. A block 1 of circular crosssection has preferably blind ended holes 2, 3, extending inwards from one face 1<b>, and, if desired, a further hole 4 or holes in the other face 1<a>, which face may be flat or rounded. The holes may be cylindrical or taper towards the blind ends and may be parallel to, or converge on, one another. In the case of a flexible pin having two points, one point may be inserted in a hole 2 or 3, and the other point in a hole 4 of the same protector. The holes 2 are smaller than the holes 3, and between them, practically all sizes of needle can be accommodated by stretching the rubber if necessary.
