Abstract
454,409. Signs. NEWMAN, J. W., 1, Harcourt Buildings, Temple, London. Jan. 23, 1936, No. 2135. Convention date, April 29, 1935. [Class 3 (ii)] A sign comprising a background 1 formed with slots shaped as characters or the like in which are supported light transmitting strip: 3 projecting or opposite sides of the background, is char acterized in that the strips are formed with irregularities 5 on one or both sides of the background for diffusing light at the base of the characters. The irregularities may extend from the background to the front edge of the strips, and when provided on both sides of the background, secure the strips in position. The strips are preferably of celluloid or a cellulose ester product.
