Abstract

453,697. Pens for sheep. SHIELL, R., Byrewalls, Gordon, Berwickshire. June 13, 1936, No. 16521. [Class 5 (i)] Relates to pens for use in dipping or shearing sheep and of the kind comprising a series of compartments carried by a turntable and surrounded with a fence, and consists in supporting the pen solely by mounting it revolubly on a central fixed pillar carried by a base. The central pillar 7 is secured to a metal base 8 and is surrounded by a tube 12 carrying roller bearings 27 and provided with a footstep bearing 29. A flange 14 on the tube is connected by bracing-members 13 with the partitions 4 and with a peripheral member 9 that is connected by angle irons 10 with a flange 11. Sliding doors arranged in the fence 6 are provided with handles 23.
