452,836. Spectacle frames. BIRKENSTEIN, F., (trading as BIRKENSTEIN & CO., F.), 147, Mainzerslandstrasse, Frankforton-Main, Germany. Feb. 17, 1936, No. 4745. Convention date, May 16, 1935. [Class 97 (i)] In spectacle arms which are made in two parts one of which is curved and is pressed resiliently against the side of the head, the two parts 1, 2 are connected together by a metallic wire 4 which is secured at its ends 5, and is freely movable within the arm for the greater part of its length, the part 1 of the arm being pressed against the head by the wire. At the junction 3 of the parts 1 and 2, the wire may be surrounded by a collar 6 to strengthen the arm, or, if the arm is made of pliable material, the wire may be contained in a casing 4a Fig. 2, to give stability. The wire may comprise several strands twisted together.
