Abstract
451,853. Stamping baths &c. STEYRDAIMLER-PUGH AKT.-GES., and RICHTER, H., 3, Marokkanergasse, Vienna. Feb. 11, 1935, No. 4427. Convention date, Nov. 23, 1934. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 12, 1935.] [Class 83 (iv)] An open-mouthed container, e.g. a bath is drawn from a metal sheet in successive stages by a single patrix 7, the sheet edge grippers, e.g. 11, 12 being changed for other grippers with successively wider openings to allow for drawing successively to the depths I, II &c. The sheet has the corners cut off. The dotted lines, e.g. 14 Fig. 7, show the position of the edge after having crept in the grippers 11, 12 after the draw to the depth 8 as in Fig. 3. The opening 13 is also wider than the previous opening of the previous grippers. To prevent wrinkling, the edge grippers may contain dies 28, Fig. 11, which make ridges 26, Fig. 10, or radial ridges 31, Fig. 12, which are subsequently drawn out. The lower grippers may be built up with rings 38, 39, 40, so that after each draw a ring only need be removed, to prepare the grippers for the next draw. As the lower gripper 12 becomes more worn at the edge than the top gripper 11, their positions may then be reversed.
